In a dream once it was springtime. The shadows were beyond the pond, and moss and flowers were flowing off the trees. There were dark clouds over part of the sky, and the dawn light, and a rainbow.
To make money on art is a different thing. That is not the dream, and the dream isn't to be believed without making money. Sparks come off a sale.
B/c I bought so many things from the Litchfield County Auction house over the years, I was convinced they would accept "The Exchange" either way. It went up for auction the week before Maurizio Cattelan's "Comedian" showed at Art Basel in Miami.
Two figures exchange emotion for a copy of emotion, engaged in the most deplorable and base act of love making, from the perspective of antiquity, and who knows what people see now. It didn't sell the first time, autumn 2019, but it sold that spring.
